Law of Moses
The below is commonly called the Law of Moses. It is the Ten Commandments that God gave to Moses. It is recorded in Exodus 20.
1 And God spake all these words, saying,
2 I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.
5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
6 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.
7 Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.
8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
12 Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
13 Thou shalt not kill.
14 Thou shalt not commit adultery.
15 Thou shalt not steal.
16 Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.
17 Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's.
After the giving of the Law of Moses, the people said that they would obey them. Gave gave his law, the Ten Commandments, and wrote them with his finger in stone. Moses carried the two stone tablets and put the law of Moses in the Ark of the Covenant.

Alabama
Supreme Court Justice Tom Parker: Man of the
Year
|
|
Do you remember the last time you heard of a high-ranking elected
official invoking the name of Jesus Christ in his inaugural address,
explaining that the Lord is the only source of life, law, and
liberty? You have heard of innumerable judges and their rulings
which appear to legitimize sin and progressively banish God from the
public square; but when was the last time you read of a Supreme
Court justice using Scripture in a court opinion to explain and
defend the biblical roots of the common law and our constitutional
system of government? And can you think of one high-ranking judge in
the entire United States, currently in office, who has risked his
"[career], his fortune and his sacred honor" by standing completely
alone, taking an unequivocal biblical stand in the defense of women
and children?
If you have followed the rise of the Christian jurist, Alabama
Supreme Court Justice Tom Parker, then your answer is yes. For
demonstrating unflinching courage in the field of legal and
spiritual battle; for modeling a heroic commitment to historic
constitutional and Christian principles of justice; for restoring
the biblical duty of the judge to defend women and children; for
acting without compromise, but with remarkable charity and
gentlemanly demeanor; and for restoring hope to a generation of
Christians who have, for decades, lived in the shadows of judicial
tyranny, Justice Tom Parker is the 2005 Vision Forum George
Washington Man of the Year. In our view, he represents the very best
example of visionary, righteous, Christian leadership. Read the rest

Judge
Roy Moore: Stop Attack on Military Chaplains

Judge Roy Moore
Former Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore Calls on President Bush to
Defend Religious Freedom of Military Chaplains
MONTGOMERY, Alabama, Feb. 16/Covenant News Wire Service/ --
Judge Roy Moore, former Chief Justice of the Alabama Supreme Court,
Vietnam Veteran, and Chairman of the Foundation for Moral Law, sent
a letter to President George Bush today urging our
Commander-in-Chief to protect the right of military chaplains to
pray in the name of Jesus.
In his letter, Judge Moore told the President that he is
"greatly disturbed by reports that chaplains of the United States
are being refused the right to pray according to the dictates of
their conscience" and "have been told that they cannot pray in the
name of Jesus Christ." Judge Moore reminded the President that he
has the constitutional authority and duty to protect the religious
freedom of chaplains:
"At a time when the ACLU and other organizations dedicated to
the removal of the knowledge of God from our land have joined forces
with liberal federal court judges to interfere with our God-given
inalienable right to worship according to the dictates of our
conscience, it is the duty of the President of the United States to
"preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United
States."

Ten
Commandments monument may return to Kentucky
Capital

Ten Commandments of Moses marker may return: Panel approves bill putting monument on Capitol grounds.
A Ten Commandments monument would return to the Capitol
grounds in Frankfort under a bill passed by a Senate committee
yesterday -- six years after a federal judge barred a previous
display.
The measure was approved unanimously as part of the latest
expansion of a bill that passed the Kentucky House of
Representatives 91-3 earlier this month.
Senate President David Williams believes that would meet the
latest U.S. Supreme Court criteria on such displays, and he doesn't
fear a court challenge.
"I can't think of anything else I'd rather be sued about than
having the Ten Commandments of Moses on the Capitol grounds," Williams said.
He added that he is among those who believe "it's important to note
in a historical context the importance of the Ten Commandments of Moses and
other Judeo-Christian documents in the formation of this country."

Ten
Commandments win in court in Utah
|
|
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- A long battle to remove a Ten
Commandments monument from a Pleasant Grove park is finally over.
At the request of the Society of Separationists, a judge has
officially dropped a lawsuit by the group who wanted the monument
removed from the park.
They had asked for the lawsuit to be dismissed last year after
the U-S Supreme Court ruled on the constitutionality of Ten
Commandments displays on public property.
This week, a judge granted a request by city lawyers to
dismiss the case.

10
Commandments posted on major road in Washington
State.
|
|
The 74-year-old Art Green actually has posted 22 neatly crafted
signs along his property on the Cedonia Road. You remember
the 10 Commandments, that ancient list of "instructions for living?
proffering religious and moral imperatives, which, according to the
Bible, was spoken by God to Moses on Mount Sinai.
It took Art Green ovr 2 months to build and post the 22
crafted 10 Commandments.
Green says his handiwork is ?an inspiration from the Lord?it
wasn?t an idea of my own.?
Green says the inspiration to provide travelers with a visual
respite and some thought-provoking roadside reading material was
something he knew he had to act on in a timely fashion.
Editorial Note: Art Green obviously has a deep understanding
of Deuteronomy 11:18-21 and the law of Moses
18 Therefore shall ye lay up these my words in your heart
and in your soul, and bind them for a sign upon your hand, that
they may be as frontlets between your eyes.
19 And ye shall teach them your children, speaking of
them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by
the way, when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.
20 And thou shalt write them upon the door posts of thine
house, and upon thy gates:
21 That your days may be multiplied, and the days of your
children, in the land which the LORD sware unto your fathers to
give them, as the days of heaven upon the earth.
Green says his handiwork is "an inspiration from the Lord. It
wasn't an idea of my own."

Congress
may pass legislation protecting the 10
Commandments in Indiana.
|
|
Congressman Hostettler of Indiana is promoting legislation to
prohibit the use of funds for a far reaching judgement of a Federal
Court which prohibited display of the 10 Commandments on the lawn of
the Gibson County Courthouse in Indiana.
This legislation has passed the House 242-182. If this
legislation passes the U.S. Senate, federal officials would be
prohibited from carrying out the illegal order of the federal court
to remove the Ten Commandments at the Gibson County Courthouse.
A similar bill passed the House in July 2003, that would have
prohibited the infamous order from Federal Judge Myron Thompson from
being executed against moving the Ten Commandments Monument at the
Alabama Supreme Court, that is associated with Chief Justice Judge
Roy Moore. The legislation did not pass the Senate in 2003.
Action: Call your U.S. Senator, and ask him to support
Congressman Hostettler's bill to protect the 10 Commandments in
Indiana. Call now 202-224-3121 Read more about it news article:

The Great Commandments in the Psalms
Psalm 19:8-10
8 The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.
9 The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.
10 More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.
Psalm 119:20
20 My soul breaketh for the longing that it hath unto thy judgments at all times.
Remeber the great words of our Lord, "if ye love me, keep my commandments". John 14:15.
